January Sky

Despite all the rain and wind (and we have had a lot of both) this month, there have been one or two rather lovely sunset skies. This one was taken on 7th January at 16:30 whilst returning home from a very short stroll down the lane.

I’m glad you are impressed Lynn πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

    So incredible!
    Really enchanting…

    1. Heyjude says:

We have not had many like this during this month, but each time I see the sky lit up like this it is spellbinding.

  3. beetleypete says:

Great colours, Jude. And set off nicely by the huge flock of birds too.
    Best wishes, Pete. x

    1. Heyjude says:

I heard the birds as I was taking the sunset shot. I was lucky they came into view with the colour behind them.

  4. restlessjo says:

The colours are lovely, Jude. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Warm and sunny today?

    1. Heyjude says:

Sunshine and showers. Again. More showers though. And cold 😦

        1. Heyjude says:

          Still raining… 😦
Perhaps it is time to build another ark. Are you in the snow?

        2. restlessjo says:

We’re in the slither, more than snow. Not sure that I want to attempt slip sliding to zumba this morning. Novak and Sharapova might do instead. Followed by Roger πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I have an ark for you over at mine today. πŸ™‚

        3. Heyjude says:

Slithering is not good. Tennis is much more appealing, especially as you don’t have to get heatstroke! Thought we might have some sun today but so far it is back to being wild.

        4. restlessjo says:

I got a lift into town. Last zumba for a while so I enjoyed it xx

        5. Heyjude says:

Ah, you are such a fit person. You never stop!

        6. restlessjo says:

          I was a slug all day yesterday πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

        7. Heyjude says:

Oh. no. please do not mention the S word to me!

        8. restlessjo says:

          I knew you’d love it πŸ™‚

Hitchcock’s birds are gathering at dusk!!

    1. Heyjude says:

Well it was written by Daphne du Maurier. She obviously came this way πŸ™‚

      1. Sue says:

        Clearly must have done!!

  6. Peter Klopp says:

It is amazing how the many birds stand out as perfect silhouettes against the evening sky. Great capture!

    1. Heyjude says:

You have to be very quick to capture them before they disappear!

  7. Donnalee says:

That’s great–so wonderful with the birds.

    1. Heyjude says:

      Thank you πŸ™‚

  8. Su Leslie says:

Beautiful shot Jude. Another image that would look great on the wall of your minimalist cliff-top house πŸ˜€

    1. Heyjude says:

I can see my minimalist house is going to need a lot of wall space!

      1. Su Leslie says:

Hm. Given that it will also need massive windows to accommodate the amazing views, I think it will have to be huge. Like, masses of spare rooms for visiting bloggers huge! πŸ˜‚

        1. Heyjude says:

Perhaps I need to set up one of those crowd funds or whatever… πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

        2. Su Leslie says:

hehe. Why not. My friend got his cafe a kitchen that way.

  9. Oh, that would be a great colour palette for a quilt! What a wonderful photo.

    1. Heyjude says:

The sky painter strikes again πŸ˜€

  10. Birds make the sky. I haven’t seen that almost greenish tinge outside Pro Hart’ paintings Of Broken Hill.

    1. Heyjude says:

The colours are divine. And yes, greenish tint. I hadn’t noticed that until your comment.

  11. Lucid Gypsy says:

Total magic Jude, wish I still had a decent photo printer, I’d pinch it for a card!!!

    1. Heyjude says:

I so enjoy the sky when this happens. Sadly not often this month.

  12. That photos is absolutely stunning! πŸ™‚

    1. Heyjude says:

I love seeing the sky like this one.

  13. mickscogs says:

    Wonderfully captured Jude.

  14. Ah, an avian version of the sunset strip.

  15. Ronja says:

    Impressive picture!

    1. Heyjude says:
