A very rich blue, I am now planning on some other colours for next year. A yellow would look good. And I know there is a lovely pale blue one.

        Oh wow, sounds beautiful.

That’s a lovely Iris, Jude. One of my favourite flowers.
    Best wishes, Pete. x

I used to have some of these little ones in pots but they disappeared over the years. Happy to see these in flower, shall have to get some different colours this year 🙂

Sweet little things. I planted 25 bulbs, but I don’t think I have 25 flowers. Shall have to go and count them now 😉

      1. Hopefully they’ll multiply over the years and you’ll have a purple spring carpet one day.

Nothing like a really good dose of blue. Splendid.

Looking a little sorry for itself today though as we had a very cold night.

    Amazing blue, love it.

Aren’t they gorgeous? 🙂 🙂 Have you escaped the snow down there? Up home they appear to have plenty. It was a bit damp here this afternoon but we managed our hill walk just before it started. Lovely couple of hours in one of our favourite restaurants, with very nice company. Good for nothing now. 🙂

No snow here yet, supposed to be tomorrow afternoon and more on Thursday. It has been exceptionally cold though; even my hellebores have wilted! I could do with a couple of hours in a restaurant.

      1. restlessjo says:

Nothing worse than wilted hellebores. 🙂 🙂

        1. Heyjude says:

No. They look a very sorry sight. I do hope they perk up after the cold weather, they were just beginning to flower!

We think the cold spell here at the beginning of this month put paid to our Camelia festival. We went up to Monchique and there were lots of them in tubs and gardens but no show. Many of them were brown round the edges. 😦 What’s that they say about the rain in Spain? Looks like Jerez is going to be pretty wet. Mick will be so pleased! But it’s supposed to rain here for the next week too. That’s life! 🙂

        3. Heyjude says:

Well you need the rain! Perhaps not in Spain though.

  6. The colours in this one are beautiful. Blue and yellow go so well together, don’t they?

  7. Superb colour and composition. Dianellas have the same colour scheme, but they are shyer. Will it survive this snow that seems to be torturing all England?

    1. Heyjude says:

Mmmm… dunno about snow, but it has been below freezing and the plants are looking decidedly unhappy. I have even brought my camellia indoors!

  8. Such an intense blue – so lovely. 🙂

    1. Heyjude says:

Even keeping their heads up in the freezing cold weather we are experiencing, which cannot be said for the rest of the flowers 😦

Have something to say?
