I love those old mugs, Jude! Where did you track them down? Fond memories of Zooms and Mivvis. šŸ™‚
    Best wishes,, Pete. x

The mugs are on sale in Mousehole Pete. I have fond memories of the lollies too – there was also one that came in a banana or raspberry flavour which was very creamy, sort of cross between an ice lolly and an ice cream. I loved those!

I loved those banana creamy lollies, and Mini-Milks too! Check out this lovely nostalgic link. x

Will do. I bought ’99’ cones the other week on Godrevy. Lovely Kelly’s Cornish ice cream but whipped. The OH surprised me by saying it was the first ’99’ he had had! Too expensive in ‘the day’.

        2. beetleypete says:

99s were a treat, but I usually had one bought for me. The last time I was in Cornwall, I had an ice cream cone with clotted cream on top! I dread to think of the calories, especially as it followed a huge Pastie. šŸ™‚

        3. Heyjude says:

Funny how so many seem to be aimed at boys! And chilly choc would mean something entirely different today. I also loved the pineapple mivvi but not the strawberry ones.

  2. I would love that cup for my collection of coffee cups!

    1. Heyjude says:

You’ll have to visit Cornwall then Cathy šŸ™‚

      1. Yes! I’ll make a trip there just for the mug! Seriously, when we visited England in 1999, we were debating between Cornwall and the Lake District. Next time, it will have to be Cornwall, which has always held a mystique for me. šŸ™‚

Oh lm jealous Jude I remember those ā€œ99ā€ā€™s from way back, never seen them over here

    1. Heyjude says:

      Just as good now!

  4. Tina Schell says:

Guess Iā€™m missing something special, never having heard of 99s! But love the red mug!!

    1. Heyjude says:

Whipped ice cream in a cone (cornet) with a Cadbury’s chocolate flake stuck in it. Very expensive when I was a child, but now I can afford them. Occasionally of course otherwise it wouldn’t be a treat. šŸ™‚

      1. Tina Schell says:

Sounds like the British version of my favorite. Vanilla custard ice cream cone dipped in liquid chocolate that freezes up on the ice cream. Yum šŸ˜ŠšŸ˜Š

        1. Heyjude says:

          Agreed, that does sound yum!

  5. Great mugs. 6d for a 99! I bought one in the recent heatwave and was shocked to be asked for Ā£2! Shows how long it is since I last indulged.

    1. Heyjude says:

I think ours were even more expensive, but what the heck. It’s only money!

      1. It was worth it šŸ¦šŸ¦šŸ¦

  6. restlessjo says:

Please can I have mine in a hard cornet? Or sugar cone, as you probably call them down south šŸ™‚ šŸ™‚ Lovely mugs!

    1. Heyjude says:

A waffle cone? They come at a price you know.

      1. restlessjo says:

        Waffle? Not me! šŸ™‚

      2. restlessjo says:

        Anyway… I’m worth it šŸ™‚ šŸ™‚

        1. Heyjude says:

Of course you are. When you coming down then?

        2. restlessjo says:

It’s a long way to come for an icecream šŸ™‚ šŸ™‚ But I know the company would be good.

  7. Sue says:

    Oh, memories!!

  8. Lucid Gypsy says:

    Fabs were my favourite!

  9. Ice cream with a flake! Yum.

  10. Lignum Draco says:

Now that is nostalgic! And look at that price!

    1. Heyjude says:

      I know. Ā£2.75 now.
