Hayle: East Quay

Β East Quay and Penpol Creek as seen from North Quay, with the treacherous sand banks that make this harbour tricky to navigate.

Easter? What Easter? Hope it was quiet and peaceful, just the way you like it. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I am sure you found a parade or three 😘 it has been glorious here and I got the raised beds painted yesterday and went looking for bluebells on the hill.

Sounds great πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ It’s not a national holiday here today and we’ve got the decorator in with his scaffolding, to finish off the bits Mick couldn’t reach. I’m keeping a low profile πŸ™‚

Your place must be looking lovely now.

Not too bad, though a neighbour showed me round her state of the art top floor apartment with views to die for this afternoon. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ But I’ve never fancied an apartment.

        3. Heyjude says:

I’d probably go for an apartment again, if it was on the top floor and had sea or river views. When I am bored of gardening of course πŸ˜€

And hope the lift always works πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Well I wouldn’t want to live in one of those dreadful high risers you see along the coast. But, yes, I do remember the pain of carrying shopping to the second floor in Haslemere.

  2. So beautiful and peaceful, and all those shades of blue!

    1. Heyjude says:

Ah, yes, when Cornwall does blue she does it well 😁

    1. Heyjude says:

Yes. Not prettified like St Ives or Padstow.

        That’s how I like them….

It looks rather ‘industrial’. But I suppose that’s a good thing, as it shows it is still a working harbour.
    Best wishes, Pete. x

The remains of the industrial part of the town, I think this is where the housing development is aimed at.

  4. Su Leslie says:

Beautiful Cornish blues. Are you saying there’s a housing development planned for that area? ☹️

    1. Heyjude says:

There are/were plans for developing the North Quay. I don’t think it will spoil the area, to be honest up until a few years ago it was all a bit of an eyesore with derelict industrial buildings.

      1. Su Leslie says:

        That’s good to hear.

Hi Jude, I love the real feel of this scene with its weathered buildings and awaiting boats. Terrific shot.
